It’s been awhile…

Hello friends and family!

We have had a very busy month of transition as we moved back to Winston-Salem. We sent out our newsletter last week, but some of you may still not be on our list. If you’d like to be added, please send us a message with your email information.

We were fortunate to spend October speaking at several different churches, a Christian school missions conference, and sharing with a small group at a brunswick stew. November has started off to be very busy as well! We spent all of last week at JAARS, a mission organization in Waxhaw, NC also associated with Wycliffe Bible Translators. We were there to attend their 1 week off road driving course and for David to do some dirt bike maintenance. It was a very beneficial week for both of us and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Dirt Bike PictureWe have enjoyed our time here in Winston-Salem reconnecting with friends and family, but are getting excited about our next steps towards Honduras. We are aiming to leave early January, if the Lord allows and things continue to go as planned. Currently, we are at 78% of our monthly financial support and it continues to come in! We are so appreciative of all the churches, small groups, Sunday School Classes, and individuals who have taken a step of faith in supporting us financially. You are furthering the kingdom of God!

Praises:

~ We praise the Lord for Hannah’s healthy pregnancy! She is currently 18 weeks pregnant and has started feeling baby flutters. 🙂 God has been so gracious to us in answering our heart’s desire to become parents. We find out the gender next Tuesday, November 17th and can’t wait to share the news with all of you!

~ Praise the Lord for safety and protection on the off road driving course, especially for David as he did some extreme training.

Prayer Request:

~ Pray for all the transitions that we are going through now as we prepare to go, and for the transitions to come for us and for our families.

~ Pray for Wes and Denise Wiles, the missionaries serving in Rus Rus, Honduras. Pray for physical strength, protection, and encouragement as they patiently wait on us to join them. We are excited to join them soon!

~ November 22nd- Open

~ November 29th- Berean Baptist Church in Manassas, VA

Settling In

Hello friends and family!

God is so good and his timing is perfect… beyond perfect. We are still blown away that we are back in Winston-Salem, in a fully furnished missions home. We sold all of our furniture in Shelby before moving, which was a big step of faith. We moved to Winston, knowing this would be a temporary home until our big move to Honduras. We are still in awe of God’s timing with our little one in my womb. God’s timing and provisions are perfect.

Our Sunday School Class from Zoar Baptist in Shelby gave us a going away party for our big move. We love and miss all of them!

We enjoyed speaking at West Point Baptist Church this past Sunday evening. Here we are with our friends, Brian and April Crowder who attend this church.

House

The mission home we are currently living in. What a blessing it is to stay here. We are so grateful for Faith Church allowing us to live here.

We are settled in our mission home at the moment and praying for the Lord’s timing for our big move to Honduras. David is leaving for Honduras next week and will try to get the dates set for language school for January 2016, Lord willing. Would you pray with us? We don’t have all the answers at the moment, but God continues to amaze us with how our support is coming in. He’s really doing this and we are able to see his provisions along the way! What a journey we are on. We praise the Lord for calling us and choosing to use us as his vessels.

Currently, we are at 56.4% of our financial support and it continues to climb, plus we are receiving significant donations towards our outgoing expense fund for moving to Honduras. We are so humbled and blessed by the Lord’s provisions. We are so thankful for all the opportunities we have had sharing with pastors, church congregations, small groups, and individuals over the past 4 months of our support raising.

~ We praise the Lord for continued provision in support raising.

~ We praise the Lord for good health and safety as we travel the American highway each week.

Prayer Request:

~ Pray for David as he travels to Honduras October 14th-24th to help with various projects and do research in the city we will be living in for language school. David will be visiting the hospitals in the city to do research for baby births. Pray for wisdom as that is a big decision.

~ Pray for wisdom as we pray about a departure date and for the Lord to finish bringing all of our support in. We know he is able!

How can we pray for YOU? Please send us your requests, and we would love to pray for you. We appreciate and love all of you!!

Blessings,

David and Hannah

Blessed Journey

Hello friends and family!

The past few weeks have been busy and exciting for us! As most of you already know, we welcomed the exciting news of pregnancy a few weeks ago! We are rejoicing in God’s faithfulness and perfect timing. We had been going through infertility for a few years and gave it to the Lord. We knew if the Lord wanted us to have children he would allow it to happen in his timing. And boy did it come as a surprise, right in the middle of support raising! We give God the glory and can’t wait to meet our new little missionary that will be joining us next April. Please keep Hannah and the baby’s health in your prayers.

Baby

We also had another huge milestone as we crossed the 50% support line! What an awesome God we serve! We are now a little over 50% of our monthly support and hoping to continue to grow. We have 38 supporters (churches/small groups/individuals) currently.

Praises:

~ Praise the Lord for Hannah’s pregnancy!

~ Praise the Lord for being at 50% of our monthly support.

~ Praise the Lord for continued safety and protection as we travel the American highway numerous times a month.

Prayer Request:

~ Pray for our upcoming construction team for next April/May 2016.

~ Pray for David as he will be traveling to Alaska Tuesday, September 15th to help another missionary move to Alaska. David, along with 5 other drivers, will be helping to transport all their belongings in a bus to Alaska. Please pray for safety as they take turns driving and for protection as they fly back home. Praise the Lord that the entire trip is being sponsored and David does not have to pay for the travel.

~ Pray for David’s upcoming trip to Honduras as he helps complete projects that are needed to be done.

Blown Away by God’s Provision

Hello friends and family!

Lots has been happening lately and miracles are all around us. We feel so blessed and honored to be on this journey to full-time missionary work in the jungles of Honduras.

The past few weeks have been extremely busy, but fun! We were blessed to spend last weekend (August 21st-24th) in Wilmington, NC. We were able to share about Honduras with a sweet congregation in Ivanhoe, NC. Pastor David and Tara Lancaster are friends of ours that attended Piedmont Baptist College with us. They invited us to come and share in their church. We enjoyed the fellowship and encouragement from these believers. We were also blessed by the sweet hospitality of a long-time friend of Hannah’s, Mary Beth and her family. We enjoyed staying with them in their beautiful home and meeting her family.

Our Neck of the Woods

It’s always so wonderful to be in your hometown. I love to reminisce and think of all the memories that reside here in the town I grew up in. It’s also wonderful to see all the people that have truly made an impact in our lives! We have been very blessed to see many friends and family this week back in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Burlington area.

We, of course, always enjoy sweet time with Hannah’s family every time we are in the Winston-Salem area. We enjoyed some sweet fellowship with Hannah’s grandparents before they headed south again to Florida. We also enjoyed time with Hannah’s parents, and her Aunt Mendy and Uncle Gray (never got a picture). 🙁

IMG_1291IMG_1290IMG_1282Someone always enjoys Grandma’s recliner. 😉IMG_1281

We thoroughly enjoyed worshipping on Sunday morning with our sending church, Calvary Chapel Fellowship, and worshipping Sunday evening in Union Grove Baptist Church, where Hannah grew up.

On Monday, we were excited to travel to Burlington for the day. We were able to see our dear friends, Jeremy and Tiffany, and even get to see our wonderful MAG team. We are always so encouraged to see all of them.

IMG_1305

This sweet couple was my youth pastor/youth pastor’s wife my last two years of high school. These two have truly invested in my life and continue to! They are the ones who encouraged me to pursue full-time ministry and spend at least one year in Bible college (Word of Life). Tiffany was the one who encouraged me to wait patiently for a Godly husband. I’m so thankful for them and words could never express the love I have for them. We loved sharing our ministry with them and it was wonderful seeing them.

The rest of the week we had various appointments with individuals, pastors, and churches. I wasn’t able to get pictures with everyone. We were so thankful for all these opportunities! A lot of the people we met with have pledged to support us monthly. We were even able to visit Piedmont International University, where it all began for us, and see a lot of our favorite professors.

IMG_1298

IMG_1295

We were given the opportunity to share our heart and passion in a Spanish small group. David did most of the sharing in Spanish, but I did get to share some in my broken Spanish. I can’t wait to be fluent like him! 🙂

IMG_1293

We came home from Winston-Salem on Friday and enjoyed some down time in Shelby. On Sunday, August 16th, we spoke in the morning service at Drury Dobbins Baptist Church in Ellenboro, NC. Our wonderful friends, Chris and Amanda Hensley, invited us to come share. Chris is the pastor of this wonderful church. The congregation was so warm and welcoming towards us. They even had a potluck lunch after the service. The food and fellowship was wonderful!

We enjoyed sharing our heart for Honduras. This church was very giving and are eager to get involved in our ministry.

Our Upcoming Schedule

Sunday, August 23rd- Ivanhoe Baptist Church in Wilmington, NC

Sunday, August 30th- Open

Sunday, September 6th- Zoar Baptist Church (Home Church in Shelby, NC)

Sunday, September 13th- New Ground Church in Danville, Virginia

Our schedule is constantly growing and changing. We have numerous individual appointments throughout each week and are thankful to share with others about how they can be involved. If you’d like to hear more about how you can be involved in our ministry, let us know! 🙂

Monthly support level continues to climb as we take on new pledges weekly! Right now, our monthly support is at a steady 44%, but it really is more than that once all our pledges come through. We have numerous families and churches that are in the process of taking us on, and we are patiently waiting.

1% of needed support = $50.00 a month.

We also have supporters doing anywhere from $10.00 on up. Would you consider doing a dollar a day =$30.00 a month?

Would YOU help us pray that God would continue to help us reach the 50% milestone? Will YOU get involved in helping send us to Honduras?

If you’re interested in partnering with us financially, click on the support us tab on the top of our page.

Blessings and love,

David and Hannah

Wrapping up July

Friends and Family,

Where has the summer gone? We can’t believe it is already August and July is over. We are excited for all the progress we have made this summer in our support raising. God is so good!

This past week we were in Shelby making contacts and having appointments in the area. We were also able to make a small one night trip to Franklin, NC to share at Iotla Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 29th.

We arrived that Wednesday and shared lunch with Pastor Jeff and his wife Cecilia. They are such a sweet couple and we enjoyed their fellowship. We thoroughly enjoyed sharing our heart for Honduras that Wednesday evening at Iotla Baptist Church. The people were so welcoming and excited to hear more about Honduras. We are hoping this church will send out a missions team in the future. 🙂

IMG_1256

Tommy and Kathy, another sweet couple at Iotla, allowed us to stay in their renovated cottage. It use to be a smokehouse, but is now used for guests to stay in. It was absolutely beautiful! We enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon.

IMG_1261

The views there were absolutely breathtaking. Who doesn’t love the mountains?

IMG_1262

IMG_1263

We arrived back home from Franklin, NC on Thursday.

During this past week, David has been able to stay proficient in the airplane as he has done several flights. We are thankful for these opportunities that Compass Aviation continues to give him to stay current.

Sunday, August 2nd, we spoke at Double Springs Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. The pastor asked us to share in the morning service as the last time we were there we shared at a Sunday breakfast. We were excited to share with the whole congregation about our vision and passion for Honduras.

IMG_1274

Overall, the past week was very successful! We are excited to see our support continue to climb. We didn’t meet our goal of 50% this past week, but we are rejoicing that we did climb some. We know in the Lord’s timing we will achieve that milestone. Would you pray about supporting us monthly to help us get to Honduras?

Current Monthly Support: 45.5.%

Our Florida Trip

Hello friends and family!

It seems like it has been forever since our last weekly update. We returned from Florida on this past Friday. While we were in Florida, we had a wonderful trip speaking with pastors, small groups, and individuals.

IMG_1214

We started off our trip with a stop in Jacksonville, Florida. We enjoyed some time at the beach as the Dr. recommended the salt air for my sinuses (Hannah). Thanks for all who have been praying for my recovery since my surgery. I’m doing much better. I have my post op appointment this Friday, July 31st, for her to check my sinuses.

We enjoyed some time at the beach!

We also enjoyed seeing Josh and Abby Evans in Jacksonville, FL for a breakfast at Cracker Barrel. What a blessing and encouragement this young couple is to us! 🙂

On to Fort Lauderdale, Florida!

We had multiple opportunities to share with individuals/families, pastors, and small groups throughout our time in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

David’s parents have a Spanish Bible study in their home every Tuesday evening. A few of the people attending right now are very close to accepting Jesus.  David’s parents have a gift for evangelism! Pray for those individuals to come to know Christ. We were able to share our testimonies and passion for Honduras both Tuesdays we were there. We were also able to encourage the believers in this group. 🙂

11694875_10205851272735869_5625516674388068981_n IMG_1241

We were also given an opportunity to speak to the Salt Life Youth on a Friday night. This is the youth group from Peters Road Baptist Church.

IMG_1229

These teenagers/young adults had such a passion and fire for our Lord. David and I could feel the Holy Spirit working through that place. It was amazing! A lot of these young people showed an interest in coming to Honduras on a missions team in the future. 🙂

We were also given an opportunity to share at a Homeschool group. I’m sorry we didn’t get a picture of this group. This group prayed over us and encouraged us. It was a group of Homeschool parents/grandparents and their children. (About 30 in all) We loved sharing with them! We are hoping a lot of them will come to Honduras in the future.

Family Time

We were so thankful to be able to spend some time with David’s family while we were there. They are such a blessing to us! We love them dearly.

11061959_518149588613_4049494066284358775_n 11742702_10205855182393608_8455268084143618767_n 11745353_518111470003_6389366686485545350_n

While there, we received numerous love offerings that are going towards our outgoing expenses for Honduras/deputation expenses. We are so grateful for God providing for us! We also have several new monthly supporters that have given and/or pledged to give. We also received another church supporter while we were on our trip. God is so good!

We are currently at 44.3% (and climbing) of our monthly support! Our goal is to be at 50% by July 31st. We know God is able! Pray to see if God is calling you and your family to support us monthly.
