Sometimes I would like to see the big picture. The WHOLE picture. From start to end.
But then I realize that God is protecting me from something I can’t handle. Can you imagine if we could see our whole lives right before our eyes? The joys, heartbreaks, ups, and downs that are waiting for us… Scary.
There is one piece to our puzzle that I am thankful we had to wait on. The mission field. For the last 10 years, David and I have both been preparing and training to go overseas. We’ve had our share of ups and downs. Among that list are: Paying off our students loans, David getting more experience as a pilot/mechanic, choosing the “right” mission organization for us, and the list could go on. And for that we are thankful. I am thankful for God’s timing as it is always best.
What about in other areas of my life or even your life? Are we patient? Do we try to rush ahead to see what the future holds? Or do we simply wait on the Lord’s timing? His perfect timing. 10 years ago or even 5 years ago we wouldn’t have been prepared to go to Honduras. God made us wait, because it was best for us.
So friend, I am here to encourage you to wait. Whatever season you’re in. Whatever you’re waiting for, because let’s face it… we’re all in some season of waiting in our lives. Take hope in your Heavenly Father and the wisdom that he has to know what is best for his child. For you.
Psalm 27:14 ” Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say on the Lord.”
